The Conscience of the Court

Laura Lee telling her story has an impact on the court because she is a very good story teller. She includes every detail in her stories and this helps the court determine if she is telling the truth or not. I do think she rambles a bit and it would make the story a lot more interesting if she didn’t have as much to say and she cut her testimony short a little bit. I think the decision in the court is right, but I feel like the judge would not have been that nice to Laura Lee because she was African American. Today I think the same decision would have been made, but it is a little unrealistic back then for the judge to be so nice to her.
