In the story The Conversion of the Jews, I liked the premise of the story, but felt bad for Ozzie. Every question he was trying to ask he was just told he was wrong and he wasn’t given an answer to his question. The adults should have sat down with him and actually tried to come up with answers to his questions instead of just getting angry with him and pushing him aside. He may have been asking hard questions, but sometimes religion is a difficult thing to understand. I do not think it was out of line for him to ask all of those questions because I think a person has to question something to make their belief in it stronger. I think the mother and the Rabbi are both portrayed negatively in the story and I was far more sympathetic to Ozzie’s character.
