The number of times good country people is repeated in the story is ironic, because the characters assume everyone out in the country is a good country person. They don’t understand that there are some people who can be in the country that aren’t good. The conflict in the story that makes it the most interesting is man v man with Helga (Joy) v her mother and man v self with Helga v herself. She struggles with being different and she always has this angry tone towards her mother.
