Desiree's Baby

I was very shocked at the ending to Desiree’s baby. I knew there was going to be some twist, but I didn’t expect this. I thought it was very ironic that in fact it was Armand was the one of mixed race and he blamed Desiree for it. I thought it was interesting that Armand would let Desiree pack up and leave with the baby. I guess since it was still during the time of slavery he would not want a child of a different race, but it was amazing to me he could turn so cold and tell her he wanted her to leave. I don't remember if it said in the story, but i wonder if he knew the whole time he was the one from a family of mixed race, and just decided to blame it on Desiree because he couldn't bare the thought himself.
